Fortitudo Poole Bay 100 Offshore Powerboat Race – Advance Programme

2017Moto have today published their Advance Programme for the Fortitudo Poole Bay 100 Offshore Powerboat Race.

There has been a date change for the race than previously advertised.

The race will be held on Sunday the 10th June and not on the Saturday.

Event Director John Moore explained the change:

There were several good reasons to move the race to Sunday, primarily we had to work with both Salterns Marina and Hotel to ensure that they could accommodate us to give our competitors the best experience.
It was also felt that it would give competitors and officials more time over the weekend and save them having to take a day off work on the Friday.

He continued:

At this early stage, I want to thank UKOPRA for their cooperation to date, Officer of the Day, Simon Wood Power for course planning and liaison with local authorities.
Our Event Partner, Richard Carr the Chief Executive of Fortitudo Property (below) has been incredibly supportive, helping not only with funding but with the venue acquisition.
David Sheldon’s Multispark Race Products are in the process of making some exclusive trophies to be presented to the Class Winners on Sunday 10th of June which will be awarded at our prize giving in the Salterns Hotel.

As for the final details of the event, Moore explained:

2017Moto will be issuing Race Instructions in early May, entry and payment will be available online via the UKOPRA website.

He concluded:

It looks like it’s going to be, and I’m using Richard Carr’s words here, ‘a really exciting event’.
Let’s aim to raise the curtain on the start of the British Offshore Racing season in style!
