Dr Brett Rocos joins UKOPRA

Dr Brett Rocos has joined UKOPRA to advise initially on medical requirements for this year’s race licences.

Rocos who works as an orthopaedic surgeon in Bristol has had a varied career.

He has been a Clinical Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer of England, worked for the World Health Organisation in East Africa, carried out research into the use of air ambulances in prehospital major trauma and has worked as a visiting spinal surgeon in the USA.

Brett isn’t new to the world of Offshore Racing, he has served as race doctor at 3 Cowes Torquay Cowes events.

I’m looking forward to working with UKOPRA and the competitors this year.
This is a very exciting new era for the sport and I’m encouraged by UKOPRA’s forward thinking with medical matters.
