Race Format

Offshore Classes 1,2 & 3 to UKOPRA rules with points towards Round 3 of the 20222 UKOPRA Championship.

Courses will be a start from East Lepe with Western Solent passage to an extended course encompassing Christchurch Bay with a maximum extent of Poole Bay and return through Western Solent to finish.

  • Expected course durations of max 90nm for Class 1 down to 55nm for Class 3
  • Awards made to places 1, 2 and 3 in each class
  • Overall award for event to be calculated from Index

Arrangements

  • Race boats and teams to present for scrutineering in dedicated berth at Port Hamble Marina by 14:00
  • Berthing for race boats is provided for the period of 10:00 Saturday 16th July until 17:00 Sunday 17th July only. If berthing is required outside of that period it must be by separate arrangement
  • Launching if required can be achieved by direct contact with Drivers Wharf or trailer by ticking the slipway box on the entry form.
  • Trailer launch will take place at Hamble Point Marina strictly by notification only.
  • A small quantity of Camper parking may be available and strictly only by request on the entry form only. Note that this may be at either marina as we are in their extremely busy season.
  • Safety vessels are requested to complete an entry form to ensure we cater to your needs.
  • Boats should arrive fuelled ready for the event or make arrangements directly with the marina if required.

Event Safety Support

  • All teams should be aware that volunteer safety craft are becoming more difficult to request due to fuel costs etc and their assistance in providing additional skippers would be highly appreciated.
  • On water Support staff will be identifiable at the event by their natty new jackets and we encourage all teams to ensure they are both welcomed and looked after hospitability wise. Just an invite to look around your race boat with their family goes a very long way to ensuring they are recognised for the input they provide. Without their continued input we will struggle in the future.
  • Those providing Safety Support that require berthing are asked to request that directly from the event contact as space is at a premium.
  • Please do not just arrive and think there will be space as while MDL will do their utmost to help us out there is a finite limit to what they can achieve!
